cute handmade bag

It's been so long since I've made something for myself. I think the last thing I sewed was a pillowcase dress! I finished this bag that I got from mizutamago's blog. She makes some really adorable things. My bag is not perfect, but it was a project before I tackle my skirt next week.

handbag project

Taking a peek into the wrong side of the outer bag.

The straps will be sewn in between the outer shell and the pink lining.

This is the bag turned inside out. The pink is the lining.This is the final bag that mizutamago sewed. Check out the link for the pattern.
This is what my outer bag looks like, now I just need to sew the straps and the lining into it.

my a line skirt project

I was inspired to pick the grey fabric and go for the shorter A-line cut skirt, b/c of this look from lover. I'll make some headway on this skirt next week, when class is back in session.

Abblesauce featured in F.I.T Style Shop

Hi Guys,

Tomorrow Abblesauce t-shirts will be sold in the F.I.T (NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology) Style Shop. My lovely friend Francesca helped me to arrange this...Thanks Francesca!!! The Style Shop is student run, so if you're in the fashion district, swing on by and support the independent designers that they feature.
I'll have more exciting news at the end of the week...we're working on showing Abblesauce in some local fashion shows!

one year

Well, this time last year I was filling out all the official paperwork to become Abblesauce LLC. Abblesauce has been in business one year so far, and I have to say that I'm definitely learning some things and loving it. I'm working on some Abblesauce events for this spring and summer and will be putting up images from my first project in sewing class.....more details to come soon!

For now, back to scouring nylonmag.com and style.com for some fashion week pics!
